These core values are at the heart of our company’s culture and shape all that we do. Verdict Music champions not just music but the visual and performing arts and we’re especially committed to supporting local art both here in our own south coast community and the greater New England region.

Verdict Music has and continues to foster a “Support Local Music” mindset by actively promoting & showcasing local artists through hosting private shows, forging strategic partnerships with local area businesses and participating in both community and corporate sponsored events.

There is no denying that the world around us has changed a lot since we launched five years ago and finding purpose in these uncertain times can be quite challenging at times.

The advent of AI and the predictable impact that it will have on so many industries – especially music and the performing arts, is deeply concerning. Operative word being “will” not may and we are now being told by some creators of this same technology to brace for impact. But all is not gloom & doom nor is all hope lost.

And you can rest assured that as we navigate this new normal and try to adapt to industry wide policy changes, Verdict Music remains committed to keeping you informed, engaged and yes,
inspired!

While we don’t deny that much in the music industry has changed in recent years, it’s important to us that you know that we are here and that we’re still the same indie label that we were five years ago, only with far greater insight and more resolve.

That brings us to where we boldly go now or ‘Plan B’ as we prefer to call it. Hint: Bring Lawyers, Guns & Money!

In the weeks and months to come, our new blog (Breaking Muse) will tackle not only the rapidly evolving impact of AI technology on the music industry but also, a host of other relevant topics that we hope you’ll find interesting and useful. We’ll also be taping a series of live interviews with notable industry experts and sharing their knowledge directly with you for added insight.

Whenever possible, we will zealously advocate on behalf of our artists and, by extension, the larger global music community by staying vigilant and well informed about emerging issues and their potential impact on our industry. Most importantly, we will continue to share pertinent information with you about the ever changing music landscape to keep you in the loop.

By demanding full transparency and accountability from key music industry players like the major labels, most influential music streaming platforms and even ordinary content creators world-wide, we (as part of the global music community) hope to effectuate meaningful and lasting change. And we pledge to remain actively engaged, both on the frontlines and behind the scenes, until such time that a fair and equitable accord is reached that prioritizes the rights of music creators and their original works over corporate profit by theft-let’s call it what it is.

This engagement involves frequent communications with our partners outside of the US as countries like the UK and much of the EU are being forced to decide the future fate of copy written, protected works. Specifically, whether or not to adopt proposed legislation that, if implemented, will allow for sweeping changes to existing copyright laws by giving most Al software creators unfettered access to intellectual property without having to pay the original authors or to obtain the appropriate licensing fee.

The stakes have never been higher and so we urge you let your voices be heard whenever, wherever an opportunity presents.
